Ministries

As an out growth of our church purpose, we have a variety of ministries for all ages and needs.

Bible School

Bible School at Hillside is for all ages! We provide a nursery for babies, classes for preschool and school-aged children. We have an active youth program, as well as several electives for the adults. Bible School meets Sunday night at 6:00 PM.

Youth Program

Our youth program includes those students in junior and senior high. Bible teaching, as well as scheduled outside activities and service projects makes this a great time of fun and learning. The youth leaders also direct our puppet ministry. Students in the youth program may become involved in the puppet ministry. This ministry has gone to the local nursing home, and been a part of VBS! For the last few years, our youth leaders have led a free "Basketball Camp" for school aged children that coincides with our VBS. Many young people from the community participate!!

Children's Ministries

Children's Church meets each Sunday morning during the second half of the morning worship service. Children learn songs, have prayer, and hear a great Bible story during this time! Joy Club meets on Wednesday night. This is also a time of singing, sharing, and Bible stories!!

Ladies' Ministries

The Ladies sponsor several outreaches including a Free Craft weekend for our community! The ladies also offer Bible studies throughout the year. You will always find the ladies planning another way to reach their neighbors for Christ!

Men's Ministries

Among their activities, the men sponsor a yearly game dinner. This event brings over 300 men & women to our church to hear a great Christian speaker and most importantly, begin a relationship with some of our men who make it a priority to follow-up on these visitors!

Choir ministry

The choir is an active member of the ministry team at Hillside. The choir ministers at the local nursing home and hands out tracts while Christmas caroling during the holiday season.

Adult Sunday School

Our Adult Sunday School classes not only learn in class, but also are active in our ministry. The classes make "care" boxes for our college students several times a year. This is always much appreciated by our students! The Sunday School classes are also involved in the May "Totally Free Give Away". This is an outreach to our community that makes a great connection!

Committees

Several lay people are involved in serving on various committees in our church: Children's Committee, Christian Education Committee, Facilities, Hospitality, Missions, Nursery, Ushers, and Worship Committee. Each committee has a chairman, committee members, and a deacon serving. These committees discuss various issues in their respective area, and make suggestions to the deacon board. Final decisions on issues rests with the pastor and deacons.
